Bill Breckon made his name as a writer and broadcaster specializing in medical topics and in current affairs. His work has spanned newspapers and magazines (notably as Medical and Science Correspondent of the Daily Mail), radio (Presenter of You and Yours and numerous BBC documentaries), television (presenter and writer of award-winning Channel 4 documentaries ) and non-fiction books (including You Are What You Eat, The Drug Makers, The Green Guide to London and Tracing the History of Houses), as well as specialist communications on medical and scientific affairs (founder of Media Alliance, an international communications consultancy.)
In the first years of this millennium Bill and his wife Lois used their creative and organizational skills to restore the small, but perfectly formed, 16th Century Castle of Park in Aberdeenshire, and ran painting and writing courses and Scottish getaway holidays there. In 2010 the whole family moved to Italy, living mainly in the centre of Florence, where the children are at school, and organizing painting holidays and creative writing courses, with international tutors, at the present day Watermill at Posara (see watermill.net).
